Former India pacer Praveen Kumar and his son survive car crash in UP’s Meerut

On Tuesday night, Praveen Kumar, a former India cricketer, and his son had a lucky escape when their SUV was hit by a trailer truck in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. This accident brought to mind the terrifying car crash of Rishabh Pant in December last year. According to Circle Officer (Civil Lines) Arvind Chaurasia, Kumar was driving from Pandav Nagar to Multan Nagar on Baghpat Road when the incident occurred near the Commissioner’s residence. The truck driver has been arrested and a case has been filed.

Kumar told PTI that he and his son were fine and that it could have been worse if not for the fact that they were in a big car. The 36-year-old had a short but successful international career, playing in six Tests, 68 ODIs and 10 T20s. Last year, he opened up about his struggle with depression and is now doing well. He was recently seen at a promotional event in Delhi with West Indies player Chris Gayle. He is currently running a real estate business and a restaurant.
