India, Ashwin continue to be No1 in Test rankings; Williamson topples Root
India and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin remain at the number one spot in the latest ICC Test Rankings, while New Zealand’s Kane Williamson has replaced Joe Root as the top-ranked batter. Ashwin also holds the world No 1 spot among bowlers with 860 points, and Ravindra Jadeja leads the all-rounders’ list with 434 points. Rishabh Pant is the highest-ranked Indian batter at number 10, with skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli occupying the 12th and 14th spots respectively. Shubman Gill is fifth in the ODI rankings, and Mohammed Siraj is the lone Indian in the top 10 in the bowling chart at number two. Williamson is back at the top spot for the sixth time, followed by Australia’s Steve Smith who is just one point behind Williamson’s 883 rating points. Ben Duckett has shot up 24 places to reach the top 20 for the first time in his career, while Ben Stokes is up nine places to 23rd.
