Punjab Sports Minister Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi on Friday declared that the hockey players from the state taking an interest in the Tokyo Olympics would get ₹2.25 crore each if the group wins a gold award.
Prior, a measure of ₹2.25 crore had been declared to be given to the whole group in the event that it won a gold.
Sodhi, according to an authority articulation, said that out of absolute of 20 players from Punjab, 11 players are giving their best in the Indian hockey group contending in Tokyo Olympics.
The men’s group has raised any expectations of an award by fitting the bill for the quarterfinals in Tokyo, winning four of their five association matches.
India last won an Olympic award in hockey in 1980 when they won the remainder of their eight gold decorations.
