Women’s World Cup: Philippines emboldened

The Philippines team lost 2-0 to Switzerland in their first game. They were expected to be an easy opponent for the Football Ferns, who had just won their first World Cup game against Norway and were hoping to advance to the next round.
Instead, the Philippines won their first World Cup game to have a chance of moving forward in their first tournament. New Zealand tried really hard but they couldn’t score as many goals as they did in their first game. They missed a lot of chances to score.
Switzerland’s goalkeeper, Gaelle Thalmann, played really well and helped them get a 0-0 draw against Norway. Norway didn’t start off well but improved after Ada Hegerberg had to leave the game. However, they couldn’t score a goal in their Group A match. Reuters is a news organization.
